Position Title Accounting Manager
Relocation Yes

JOB SUMMARY:

Accounting Manager will work in all facets of accounting department for a growing international marine service provider: A/P, A/R, G/L, compliance & assurance, taxes, projects, while reporting directly to Vice President/ CFO and President. Requires seasoned, broad-based accounting experience coupled with strong quantitative and analytical skills. Ability to analyze, report, and drive results is paramount. Prior experience with international taxes a plus.

DESCRIPTION OF TASKS:

1. Provide detailed monthly financial analyses coupled with financial performance analytics. (General Ledger, customer, and vendor).
2. Records, classifies and summarizes financial transactions and events in accordance with GAAP (e.g., accounts receivable, accounts payable, inventory control, G/L, etc.).
3. Banking, S/T investments and cash management functions and applications.
4. Initiate journal entries and reconcile balance sheet accounts with emphasis on account turns and cash flows.
5. Provide corporate tax compliance, preparation and submitting - domestic and foreign agencies.
6. Assist with audits/reviews (domestic and international) with the ability to manage professional engagements.
7. Assist with budget preparation, review and analyses (actual to budget).
8. Involved in special projects/analyses as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
1. 4-year BA or BS degree in Accounting required.
2. CPA required
3. Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office and accounting software applications.
4. Attention to details coupled with strong analytical/quantitative abilities to identify and solve problems with the ability to write clear/concise recommendations.
5. Self-starter with a high-energy level; able to work independently and/or with the team.
6. Organizational skills combined with the ability to effectively communicate in a clear, concise and effective manner.

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND:

1. General Education: BA or BS Degree in Accounting required coupled with a CPA. Relevant course work to include: Intermediate Accounting, Financial Reporting, Taxation, Internal Auditing, Accounting Info Systems, Commercial Law, Income Taxes, and Statistics.
2. Special Vocational Preparation: On-the-job training is provided. Company will also send employee to applicable classes/seminars when required.
