The Challenge
We are looking for a talented Administrative Assistant with great customer support skills to join our Department of Motor Vehicles Unit. In this role, you will work in the Vehicle Services in the Special License Plate Unit, and
⦁ Assist the public with titling and licensing vehicles with personalized and special license plates,
⦁ Communicate with and assists the public and Government Officials in person and by phone with questions and concerns regarding personalized and license plate inquires
⦁ Assist other DMV units and branch offices with questions about personalized and special plate inquiries.
⦁ Help issue instant titles and registrations for State and Cabinet agencies, and for emergency lien releases.
⦁ Issue personalized and special license plates or renewal stickers by entering information using Vehicle Registration STARS Program
⦁ Check personalized plate choices on a computer for availability
⦁ Collect correct fees and maintain a cash drawer and close out and balance a cash drawer daily.
⦁ Compose letters or use standard form letters created on STARS computer platform to respond to the public regarding their registration/plates.
⦁ Assist your Supervisor with contact us, daily deposits, official letters written in mail merge and new plate categories.

What You Bring
⦁ Skills interpreting or explaining policies, procedures, and laws
⦁ Technical proficiency with Microsoft Office including Access, Word and Excel
⦁ Able to gain thorough knowledge of the Vehicle Registration laws and their application
⦁ Experience exercising considerable judgment in planning problem solving and implementing processing techniques
⦁ Ability to perform motor vehicle title examining work or processing legal documents

Education and Experience
⦁ High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and 2 years of administrative experience; or
⦁ Equivalent combination of education and experience.
