A Data Warehouse/Business Intelligence Developer resource is needed for the OCFS Data Warehouse/CONNECTIONS Reporting Module. The DW is sourced from the agency’s major child welfare case management related systems: CONNECTIONS, CCRS, and WMS.

The Data Warehouse effort consists of multiple sub-projects. The efforts over the next 23 month period will include priorities including:

Kinship Guardianship Assistance program Reporting Module; Casework Contact reporting; Risk Assessment details Reporting Module;
Family assessment Service Plans Analysis Reporting Module; National Youth in Transition Database reporting Module Modifications; B2H and Health Reporting Module; StatsPop Redesign and Building JJIS Data Mart; Load Issue resolutions; Load inquires; Phase II Load monitoring; 2n level testing of issues and code fixes; CONNECTIONS Quarterly Build changes; Infrastructure upgrades and enhancements (Cognos and Oracle upgrades); and more.

The OCFS Data Warehouse is a long term, ongoing effort to meet the data sharing and reporting needs of OCFS, the federal government, and local districts and voluntary agencies. The first deliverables were deployed in 2000, and the warehouse continues to grow in terms of data volume, functionality, and customers on a continual basis, with heightening reliance on the availability of up to date child welfare data for local operational needs. The DW effort consists of many sub-projects, each with its own schedule and deliverables. Approximately 10 sub-projects are currently in progress, with another 50 or so in the queue.

This 23 month position is for a Oracle Data Warehouse/Business Intelligence Developer and is required to design/model, construct, load, and validate the data tables through the enterprise Data Warehouse architecture in support of these Data Warehouse projects. In addition, this resource will be responsible for managing the Data Warehouse daily processing operations and job schedules.

If this resource is not procured, the Data Warehouse project will be left with insufficient Oracle Developers to address the workload over the next 24 months, leaving CONNECTIONS and other state and federal reporting needs unmet.

1. Work in coordination with a team of developers to expand the current Data Warehouse.
2. Work with Business Analyst & customers on analysis and logical design for mappings and ETL.
3. Perform unit testing and correct all identified bugs.
4. Perform complex PL/SQL coding in a Data Warehouse environment.
5. Assist with responding to Juvenile Justice data requests.
6. The individual in this position will work under the direction of a Technical Lead & Project Manager.
7. Perform writing of complex stored procedures/triggers in an Oracle database utilizing PL/SQL
8. Modify Data Warehouse routines as needed to support the functionality and security requirement for CONNECTIONS.
9. Design/model, construct, load, and validate the data tables though the enterprise Data Warehouse architecture to support CONNECTIONS Data Warehouse projects and Cognos Reporting.
10. Design/development of all financial Data Marts.
