Minimum Qualifications
Seven years experience as a Registered Nurse in ED.
3 years of ED Director experience.

Education and Certification BSN Required MSN highly preferred

POSITION DESCRIPTION:-
• Responsible for leading and directing unit staff involved in the provision of patient care within respective unit, including hiring, disciplining and terminating when necessary.
• Assumes 24-hour responsibility, authority and accountability for staffing, management, patient care, and service operation, serving as a role model for excellence in patient care.
• Ensures budget meets organizational goal.
• Develops, executes and prioritizes unit goals, including timelines which support the Nursing Division Strategic Plan and mission statement: Serving our Community with Compassion and Commitment.
• Evaluates the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice and nursing services to identify areas of opportunity and to ensure nursing practice continually improves and impacts positively on patient outcomes.
• Maintains evidence of quality measures tracking including unit dashboards
Must be a proven ED Director - someone with good employee engagement and good patient satisfaction scores -- we will be asking them about patient satisfaction scores.
Someone who can mentor the clinical manager and clinical leads
Someone who works well with physicians
Someone who is strong at orienting new staff.
Someone who is good with process improvement and creating/updating policies and procedures.
Prefer if they have experience with the STUDER principles (not a deal breaker)
Would love a candidate that has experience opening an ED or managing two ED\\\\\\\'s at the same time.

Phone Screen Items: What types of things should I screen candidates for during a phone screen?

Most common types of patients? Normal ED mix of patients.

What type of software system? HMED

Average visits per year? 48K - 50K visits per year

How many beds in the ER? 27 + 10 desk/hall beds that are used regularly

Reporting structure: CNO, ACNO, Director, Clinical Manager, Staff


Other general department information that candidates might find helpful
We are currently a level 4 trauma center and we would like to be a level 3 trauma center.
We would like to pursue our Trauma Designation.
We are accredited by DNV and not the Joint Commission.

Describe what you look for in a candidate – A successful candidate for ED must have/possess:
