Job Description

Review and document customer specifications and requirements
Create component / hardware test specs based on required parameter, performance, and cost criteria
Design, develop circuit and PCB layouts for SMT & Through-Hole applications for embedded circuit apps
Interface with ECU Interface, Manufacturing, Mechanical engineering, and production teams
Provide post production support by identifying issues, evaluating options, and implementing solutions
Specify appropriate test equipment and engineering tools
Contribute new and innovative ideas to rapidly evolving business development activities
Investigate and solve engineering and quality issues

Essential Skills/Experience

A bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, MSEE preferred
3-5 years of electrical engineering experience
Proficiency with Altium Schematic Capture and Layout tools
Digital design experience including logic, microcontrollers, SPI, I2C, RS485, etc…, preferred
Analog design experience including active/passive filters, amplifiers, 0 -10V, 4-20mA, etc…
Switching power supply circuits
Experience with printed circuit board design and layout considerations
Knowledge of emerging technology related to electrical hardware
Familiarity with theoperation of lab equipment, troubleshooting, and bench testing of circuit designs

Bonus Skills/Experience

Knowledge of EMI design considerations
Knowledge of electronic packaging design for high reliability/harsh environment applications
FPGA design using VHDL helpful
Knowledge of C/C++/C# language in embedded environments helpful
Knowledge of industrial networks (CAN, CAN-FD, EtherNet/IP, EtherCAT, etc…) a definite plus
Circuit simulation experience a plus
