Project: New York Early Intervention System (NYEIS)

NYSDOH is in need of temporary contractual services for an Oracle database administrator to support the New York Early Intervention System (NYEIS). This application is used to address the Early Intervention Program’s (EIP’s) functions of child referral and intake, case management, developmental evaluations, service planning, service delivery, service providers’ claiming, service provider’s payment, 3rd party insurance claiming (commercial and Medicaid), state vouchering, provider application and approval, reporting, auditing, and compliance with Federal and State requirements.

• Installing, upgrading, and patching Oracle Database software in an IBM AIX environment with RAC, ASM, Data Guard, Enterprise Manager, and GoldenGate.
• Creating Oracle databases.
• Developing and testing a backup and recovery strategy, backing up Oracle databases regularly, and recovering them in case of failures.
• Configuring the network environment to enable clients to connect to databases.
• Starting up and shutting down the database.
• Managing storage for the database.
• Managing users and security.

Required Skills/ Experience/ Education:
• 84+ months of experience installing, upgrading, and patching Oracle 10g or higher Database software in a Unix-like environment (e.g. AIX) using Maximum Availability Architecture (MAA). This must include all of: Oracle RAC, ASM and Data Guard.
• 84+ months of experience using RMAN for backup and recovery of Oracle databases in MAA environment.
• 84+ months of experience monitoring and tuning databases using Oracle Enterprise Manager 10g or higher or Oracle Cloud Control.
• 84+ months of experience investigating, gathering diagnostic data for, and reporting to Oracle Support Services any critical database errors.
• Oracle 10g or higher Certified Professional (OCP) certification.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science or a related field.
• 36+ months of experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager Cloud Control 12c (experience with prior versions of OEM will not be counted).
• 36+ months of experience with Oracle 10g or higher GoldenGate.
