Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field and 7 years of directly related experience preferred, or High School Diploma or equivalent with 10 years experience

Experience in growing and developing databases to deliver improved response levels requirements

Expert knowledge of database administration, hardware/software, programming, systems analysis, and related systems
Ability to work on issues where analysis of situations or data requires knowledge of organizational objectives and the selection of methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results
Hands-on database tuning and troubleshooting experience

Experience with data processing flowcharting techniques

Ability to interact with users and office staff of all levels to assist with difficult technical tasks.
Provides technical assistance in identifying, evaluating, and developing cost-effective databases to meet user requirements, translating the function to be automated

Documents database system function and flow to maintain internal controls
Assists in analyzing performance to be expected from proposed database enhancement
Develops, performs, and evaluates database testing
Responsible for change control, version control, access control, input/logic inspection control, security and integrity of data, documentation, back-up archiving and segregation of duties/roles and procedures where necessary
Researches and evaluates computer applications and database server hardware and software
Designs and implements redundant systems, policies, and procedures for disaster recovery and data archiving to ensure effective protection and integrity of data assets
Plans and coordinates data migrations between systems
