The Challenge
We are looking for a GREAT customer service professional to work with our DMV International Registration Plan (IRP) license plate team. In this role you will :
Deliver customer-friendly, patient, courteous, and informative services to customers.
Work in-person with customers to be sure they have the right documents to open or renew IRP accounts.
Assist customers filing equipment supplements, updating insurance, turning in tags, collecting and confirming payments , and with other DMV IRP-related documentation and processes.
Explain required proof of residency requirements to customers.
Review all residency proof documents to detect fraud or altered materials.
Contact utility companies to verify proof of residency.
Review lease agreements and insurance certifications to make sure that they are compliant with IRP requirements.
Follow-up with customers who return because they did not have all required documents.
Provide support by phone and FAX to customers, insurance companies, the public, and motor carrier authorities.
Process incoming mail and respond to renewal packets and submitted payments.
Mail invoices for payments and renewal packets received.
Reviewing North Carolina Secretary of State, Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, and Safety and Fitness Electronic Records websites and cross-reference USDOT and Motor Carrier numbers.
Respond to customer questions about Unified Carrier Reg (UCR) and International Fuel Tax Agreement (IFTA) and provide them with contact information.
Maintain a detailed and accurate accounting of all cash, credit/debit card, money order, and check transactions.
Balance and reconcile your cash drawer at the end of each work day.
Conduct all title work and all other transactions pursuant to the Motor Vehicle General Statutes, DMV rules and regulations, and the Privacy Protection Act.
Review in-state and out-of-state finance packages used by IRP customers to purchase/lease motor vehicles.

What You Bring
Technical and administrative skills and an extensive knowledge of the NC General Statutes, policies, procedures, and regulations governing the issuance of an NC title and other credentials.
Computer and web experience.
Broad customer service skills with high patience dealing with a diverse customers explaining detailed information relating to laws, rules and regulations.
Attention to detail recording, compiling, summarizing & analyzing data.
Able to review information to ensure compliance with laws, rules and regulations to resolve complex or special processing matter.
Experience balancing a cash drawer.

Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree; or
An equivalent combination of training and experience.
