Job Description

Quality Management Assistant is the initial contact for individuals presenting to the QMGT. At the discretion of the Director, is responsible for providing administrative/clerical duties necessary to the departments falling under the QMGT umbrella. Professionalism, accuracy of communication obtained, critical thinking skills and the ability to handle multiple responsibilities is necessary as the duties of the position are various, ranging from answering phones to documenting minutes at professional meetings. The ability to reason, communicate professionally, and basic manual dexterity is essential. This individual is in frequent contact with South Peninsula Hospital (SPH) staff, physicians and providers, patients and/or family members as well as members of the community. Ability to coordinate hospital-wide electronic policy. Willingness to become cross-trained for basic coverage of Medical staff Office when requested.

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:

Associates Degree (A.A.) required or equivalent combination of education and experience which demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform required duties.
Minimum of two year’s previous administrative/clerical experience with experience in professional meeting minutes’ documentation.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, to include Word, Outlook, and Power Point required.
Proficiency in Excel with the ability to develop charts, graphs and calculate numerical values.
Ability to operate various types of office equipment including but not limited to phones, computers, copier, and fax machine.
Experience in a medical environment preferred.
Must have excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
Must be organized, detail-oriented and ability to multi-task.
