Job Title: Sr. Citrix Admin
Location: Carmel, IN

Job Summary: Reporting to the Server Operations Manager, this position is responsible for providing technical expertise in the design, implementation, and maintenance of client’s Citrix environment. This includes managing and performance-tuning Citrix systems, networks, and applications to ensure high levels of availability and security for the supported business applications. This individual also participates in the planning and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure virtual system provisioning and maintenance that is consistent with company goals, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities and Duties:
• Performing tuning, maintenance in all aspects of Client’s virtual environment, virtual server creation, and backup performance as it relates to Client’s Citrix platform, and general server maintenance.
• Installation, administration, and troubleshooting of HP Blade servers.
• Administration of virtual server OS to include Linux, Windows 2008, and 2012 platforms.
• Implement policies, procedures, and technologies to ensure Citrix system security through secure system access, monitoring, control, and routine security evaluations.
• Perform tasks necessary to fulfill service level agreements with end users regarding Citrix-served application availability and security including file system and database configuration and management.
• Perform and test system configuration backups and restores to ensure system recovery from outages or errors.
• Review and deploy new Citrix patches and software updates according to best practices.
• Anticipate, mitigate, identify, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware and software problems on Citrix servers and client access software.
• Analyze Citrix application usage to support long-term strategy and network capacity and/or licensing.
• Collaborate with analysts, application developers, and system owners in the testing of Citrix programs, applications, and interoperability.
• Develop, document, and maintain policies, procedures, and associated training plans for both Citrix system administration and end-user access.
• Recommend hardware or software changes needed to optimize Citrix deployments, configuration, or maintenance.
• Support feasibility studies for Citrix products under consideration for purchase.
• Make sure customers receive prompt, efficient, and courteous attention for all contacts and transactions.
• Ensure proper follow-through on all directives, bulletins and schedules from the Corporate Office and the Server Operations Manager. Maintain a good flow of communication with the Department employees and within the Corporation.
• Be familiar with procedures for handling all aspects of customer complaints and disputes and resolve any customer complaints in a friendly, courteous manner. Advise the Server Operations Manager of serious complaints or incidents.
• Practice and promote teamwork at all times. Set a good personal example of attitude and performance.
• Monitor all area related conditions, property and equipment within corporate standards for cleanliness, proper maintenance and safety. Advise Maintenance of all breakdowns and maintenance immediately.
• Make sure all area conditions do not threaten employee safety. Respond to and follow proper procedures on employee accidents, injuries, and loss or damage to any property. Report all incidents immediately. Practice and instruct all employees in proper loss prevention and reaction procedures.

Educational Requirements and Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree in a related area or the equivalent in experience is required.
• At least five (5) years experience with detailed understanding of Citrix 5.0 and above in XenApp and XenDesktop.
• Equivalent experience in systems administration (i.e.Windows Clustering, Windows Server 2008/2012 and Terminal Server, Active Directory, patch management, and System Center 2012).
• Strong skills in the area of planning, installation, configuration, analysis, troubleshooting, proactive problem management, monitoring, backup, recovery, capacity management, performance management, and preventive maintenance of enterprise Citrix operations
• Knowledge of Wyse thin clients, Citrix Edgesight, application packaging, Windows Registry, NFS, and iSCSI would be a plus
• Familiar with the following core technologies: XenApp, XenServer, XenDesktop, Citrix Provisioning Services, Citrix Access Gateways, Citrix Netscalers, VMware, and Appsense
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
