Reporting to the VP of Technical Services, the New Product Development Engineer is responsible for development, engineering, testing, qualification, validation, and implementation of new product and packaging projects that meet consumer requirements, functional parameters, safety standards, cost targets, and manufacturing/shipping requirements and contract manufacturing sources,
Responsibilities
• Working closely with Marketing in translating consumer insights and strategies into new and improved product ideas, formulations, and packaging
• Interact directly with all departments on a cross-functional basis to lead the company’s product development process
• Develop and manage new product timelines
• Support contract manufacturing sites with manufacturing and quality systems expertise
• Investigate new product technical issues and deviations from standard operating procedures and contract manufacturing sources and assist in resolutions
• Administer qualification/validation activities for internal and contract manufacturing tech transfers, product improvements, and product innovations
• Collect and assemble technical documentation in support of product technical files, design history files, and product registration files
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Sciences (Chemistry, Engineering, Biology)
• 5 years of technical project supervision experience, preferably in the pharmaceutical industry
• 5 years of pharmaceutical operations management or supervisory experience
• Experience in key process technologies, including sterile ophthalmics, topicals, and solid dosages (capsules) manufacturing
• Experience with MS Excel, MS Project, and other project management software
