Job Description
1) Check in
* Check and record additional damage
* Up sell additional repairs
* Record paint code and production date
2) Vehicles for supplement damages
* After tech. tears down vehicle review with tech. and parts manager
* Make sure tech. measures vehicle when necessary for electronic print of frame damage
* Ensure proper parts have been ordered
* Write supplement & paint material guide if applicable
* Call insurance company, fleet company or owner of vehicle for additional damages
* Negotiate supplement damages with insurance company Appraiser
* Relay approved parts to parts manager
* Mark blends and areas ok to repair on vehicle, added R&I 's and areas that are not ok to repair
* Relay any changes to techs. when negotiated differently than discussed at tear down review
3) Customer Service
* Call customer with update and target after tear down
* Note all activity pertaining to repair including supplements, parts delay, target date changes, customer update discussions
* Stay on top of supplements submitted to insurance companies.
* Call customers with any added delays that can affect the target date
* Explain repair process for self-pay and Insurance jobs.
* Understand Fleet account procedures.
4) Fleet accounts
* Take original pictures of damages and email
* Fax original estimate or email
* Take pictures of supplement damages
* Email pictures to fleet company and fax supplement
5) Quality repairs
* When reviewing with techs. make sure that suggested repair will be a quality repair (bring problems to Shop Manager attention)
* When possible check repair or refinish work (quality issues should be brought to Shop Managers attention)
Minimum requirements:
Education: Associates Degree and Massachusetts auto damage appraisal license
Experience: 2-3 years in auto damage appraising
Specific skills:
Negotiating, basic typing, excel (basic use) windows 2000 & up, need to be able learn new software, estimating program (Pathways, Mitchell, or A.D.P.)
1. Associates Degree or higher.
2. Massachusetts auto damage appraisal license.
3. 2+ years of experience in auto damage appraising.
