Experience maintaining and supporting Windows 2008 Servers Required 4 Years.
Experience maintaining and supporting Active Directory Required 5 Years.
Experience with Patch Maintenance Required 5 Years.
Experience with installing and maintaining Antivirus Solutions (Trend Micro, Symantec, McAfee) Required 5 Years.
Experience in Maintaining Printing in an Enterprise environment Required 5 Years.
Experience writing scripts in a Power Shell or other pre-approved administrative language. Required 3 Years.
Experience in Documenting Maintenance Schedules, Policies and Procedures Required 5 Years
Description:
• Monitors the Help Desk for appropriate calls within areas of responsibility and resolves calls. Re-directs calls as necessary.
Acts as liaison for assigned systems.
Coordinate efforts with vendors for 3rd tier support as required.
• Responsible for upgrading the operating and system software and keeping patches current; Ability to write scripts in a Power Shell or other pre-approved administrative language;
• Provides support for Windows 2003, 2008 server environment including operating system software, utilities, and 3rd party products including server backup, security, along with performance tuning and capacity planning.
• Works with the various Infrastructure teams and operations provider to identify systems management activities.
• Document any software or hardware dependencies; where necessary recommend alternative solutions; Executes project plans and recommends actions when necessary.
Shares configuration and design details with staff members to ensure cross-team knowledge.
• Document new or revised system software; Train staff in the use of new or revised systems software. Provides technical support to IS personnel and user community;
• Ensures all work is within the guidelines of NJ Transit’s Standards in support of NJ Transit’s data environment. Provides technical support to IS personnel and user community.
Skill Level:
Must be experienced maintaining and supporting:
• Windows 2003/2008 servers,
• Active Directory,
• Patch management,
• antivirus solutions (TrendMicro, Symantec, McAfee) and
• Printing in an enterprise computing environment.
Excellent communications skills required.
Must be VERY ORGANIZED and have experience working with business and technical LOBs.

• Linux,
• CommVault Simpana,
• Active Sync,
• Support of various smartphone technologies (Blackberry, Android, iPhone) is desired.
Education: - Bachelor Degree in Computer Science.
