The mission of Public Allies is to create a just and equitable society and the diverse leadership to sustain it. Public Allies launched in 1993 in Washington D.C. and Michelle Obama served as founding executive director for Public Allies Chicago in 1994. Since 1994, we\'ve expanded to 22 other sites across the US. As an organization, we seek to find the next generation of diverse leaders for the nonprofit sector. Since 1993, we\'ve helped thousands of young people gain skills to begin and sustain careers as social change makers. We hope you will join us in continuing that work!
