About Middesk:
Middesk is building the data and intelligence infrastructure that helps businesses work together with confidence. We started by creating a comprehensive platform for understanding businesses, bringing together authoritative and proprietary data to help customers verify business identities, onboard customers faster, and manage risk throughout the customer lifecycle.
Today, Middesk is used by more than 700 banks and fintechs, and in 2025 we verified more than 7 million companies. We've also expanded beyond business verification to help companies form, register, manage, and maintain their businesses, supporting more than 50,000 companies in setting up over 100,000 accounts required to hire employees, run payroll, and stay compliant.
Middesk came out of Y Combinator, and is backed by Sequoia Capital, Accel, Insight Partners, and Canapi. We're proud to be named on the Forbes Fintech 50 and Best Startup Employers lists.
The Role
Marketing is being completely reinvented. AI is changing how people search, how buyers discover products, and what good growth work even looks like. The people winning right now are the ones throwing out the old playbook and rebuilding from first principles — using AI as a lever to do far more with far less, living at the edge of AEO and agentic search, and finding creative ways to capture attention before anyone else does.
That's the mandate for this role. You'll own how Middesk gets found: SEO and AI/answer-engine search performance, an AI-assisted content system that multiplies our output without producing generic "AI slop," and a steady stream of 0→1 creative experiments built for organic reach and brand visibility. You'll partner closely with Product Marketing and the content team on what's working and why, and with Kyle directly on where we double down, shift, or kill a direction.
This is an individual-contributor role, not a management seat on day one — but it's built for someone who thinks and moves like an owner: self-directed, comfortable with a flat and fast-moving reporting line, and ready to have a real voice in how this function gets resourced and structured as it scales.
Hybrid
We follow a hybrid work model, and for this role, there is an expectation of 3 days per week in our NYC or SF office. Candidates should be based within a commutable distance, as we believe in the value of in-person collaboration and building strong team connections while also supporting flexibility where possible.
What You'll Do
Own SEO and AI/answer-engine search performance for middesk.com as a compounding growth engine, not a one-off project
Build and run an AI-assisted content system - pulling signals from market and competitive tools to scale content output significantly, without sacrificing credibility or quality
Partner with Product Marketing and the content team to evaluate and improve the performance of existing digital assets and content
Launch 0→1 creative growth experiments and campaigns aimed at organic reach, virality, and brand visibility
Partner with the right people on ongoing performance analysis - not just build reporting infrastructure and use it to drive real decisions on where we double down, shift, or kill a direction
Bring a point of view on team and resourcing needs as this function grows
What We're Looking For
6+ years in growth marketing, SEO/content, or performance marketing, ideally in B2B SaaS or fintech
Strong systems thinker; can design, pressure-test, and implement end-to-end growth systems, not just run individual campaigns
A high bar for content craft; comfortable scaling output dramatically with AI without producing generic "AI slop"
Comfortable speaking to and building for a technical audience: product managers, engineers, and increasingly their AI agents
A track record of hitting high expectations on short timelines with limited resources
Self-directed; you don't wait for direction to start moving, and you're comfortable with a flat, fast-moving reporting structure
Clear, provable ties between your past work and pipeline impact (e.g., AEO performance shifts, organic or social campaigns that moved real numbers)
Technical fluency beyond spreadsheets; comfortable with SQL, light coding, and/or using LLMs to build your own tools and workflows
Naturally curious; a hacker at heart who chases things down out of curiosity, not just when assigned
You've been thinking about AEO and agentic search before it was a talking point
Bonus Points
Experience at companies like Ramp, Mercury, Brex, Rippling, Vanta, or Retool
Hands-on experience with AI-enabled marketing workflows or agentic tooling
Background in consulting, analytics, or structured problem-solving environment
