We are seeking a highly experienced Environmental Project Manager to oversee a diverse portfolio of industrial and retail petroleum environmental projects. This role includes technical leadership, team supervision, client engagement, and financial management. The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of environmental regulations and remediation practices, particularly related to Underground Storage Tanks (UST/LUST) and New York environmental laws.
Manage a portfolio of 20–40 active environmental projects, ensuring timely delivery, regulatory compliance, and client satisfaction
Supervise and mentor technical staff, conduct performance evaluations, and lead project team meetings
Provide senior-level oversight and expert input on complex environmental investigations and remediation strategies
Allocate financial and staffing resources, track budgets, and manage overall project performance
Evaluate subsurface conditions, support remedial system design, and lead regulatory negotiations
Review and approve technical documentation, reports, and other project deliverables
Serve as the primary client contact, maintaining strong relationships through consistent delivery and service excellence
Oversee Phase I & Phase II environmental site assessments, including report writing and data interpretation
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Geology, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related scientific field
8–10+ years of experience in environmental consulting, with a strong background in:
Site investigation and remediation
UST/LUST management
Regulatory negotiations and reporting
Managing industrial and/or retail petroleum projects
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects (20–40) concurrently with a high level of client satisfaction
Strong experience with New York State environmental regulations
Proven ability to maintain long-term client accounts through high-quality service
Exceptional skills in technical writing, client communication, team coordination, and organizational management
Professional certification (e.g., PG, PE, CHMM)
Prior experience with large-volume project handling
Experience in maintaining regulatory and reporting compliance under tight deadlines
Must pass a drug/alcohol screening and background check
Willingness to travel to project sites as needed
