Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Industrial Piping and Mechanical Estimator to join our team. This role involves preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for industrial projects, with a focus on piping and mechanical systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in estimating, a deep understanding of industrial construction processes, and proficiency in relevant software tools.

 

Key Responsibilities:-

 

Scope Identification & Quantity Takeoff: Analyze Request for Quotation (RFQ) documents to identify the scope of work and perform detailed quantity takeoffs for piping and mechanical systems.

Estimate Preparation: Develop comprehensive cost estimates by interpreting plans and specifications, ensuring compliance with project requirements and industry standards.

Vendor & Subcontractor Coordination: Solicit and evaluate pricing from material vendors and subcontractors to ensure competitive and accurate cost inputs.

Team Collaboration: Coordinate with internal teams, including design and project management, to develop integrated estimates for larger projects.

Compliance Assurance: Ensure all estimates adhere to company standards, risk management protocols, and client requirements.

Construction Methodology: Work closely with the in-house design team to ensure estimated construction methods are safe, workable, and efficient.

Schedule Development: Create project schedules that align with owner requirements and optimize company resource utilization.

Safety Considerations: Identify and address potential safety risks in the estimation process.

Proposal Preparation: Prepare detailed proposals, documenting the basis of estimates and any assumptions made.

Documentation Management: Maintain organized records of base bid documents and estimate information for future reference.

Project Handover: Coordinate with the operations team to ensure a smooth transition of successful bids to the project team.

 

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field, or an equivalent combination of technical training and experience.

Experience: 7–10 years of estimating experience in industrial piping and mechanical systems. Modular piping construction experience is preferred.

Software Proficiency: Strong computer skills, with familiarity in scheduling and estimating software such as HCSS and Microsoft Office Suite.

Additional Skills: Ability to estimate other areas (structural, civil, etc.) on smaller projects is a plus.
